When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

In contact forms we collect you name and email address for the possible contact needs and requests from our site, this is also like if you send us a regular email.

We do not share any personal data with anybody, and since we are not a commercial site we do not need to ask for any such information.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How we protect your data

We are constantly checking the security of the site, and we use firewall and security software to protect the site, the physical server are a dedicated server and are out of reach for others except the web admin.

Hacking attempts and DoS attacks WILL lead to a blocking of the whole IP-range it comes from to the server. We also block entire countrys that have a significant amount of abusive traffic to the site.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the case of successful hacking attempts or discovered intruders at the site, we will block the server from internet until the problem is solved, we do not loose any money from the site going down anyway, so we have no problems with that.
